Item description
Authentic vintage hand signed Christmas card and signed note with photo of country western entertainer Loretta Lynn. We offer a lifetime guarantee this item is original and authentic. The card is not dated, but we estimate it is circa mid-1960s based on the time period of other correspondence between Loretta Lynn and the recipient. The inscription reads, "Howdy Frederick. How be you? I'm tired, hope you have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Your friend, Loretta. Please write." Measures 9 x 6.5 when opened to show photo and note. Condition: The item is in excellent condition. Comments: This item comes from a large collection we purchased from a former Boston radio announcer and musicologist who specialized in writing album liner notes and interviewing entertainers for freelance articles appearing in various national publications. Biography: Loretta Lynn, born in the coalfields of Kentucky, married when she was 13 and had four children by the time she was 18. At 25, having taught herself guitar, she wrote, recorded and promoted her first hit, "Honky Tonk Girl". She joined the Grand Ole Opry cast two years later. Voted the Country Music Association's top female vocalist three times and Entertainer of the Year in 1972, her autobiography, Coal Miner's Daughter, was made into an Academy Award-winning film in 1980. Lynn was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988.
