Item description
Very scarce semi-porcelain gravy or cream vessel and remarkable to find in this condition which is Very Good to Excellent. Really the only wear is to the gilding around the top rim and on the handle; the interior is only very slightly discolored. About 4 1/4" tall at the highest point. Craqueleure is light and attractive. It is in about as nice condition as you will ever find a used one in.
The Mellor, Taylor Co. firm lasted less than twenty years and went out of business in 1904 despite the high quality of their goods. They just were facing too much heavy competition. Very few pieces come to market and the more desired individual function ones become all the more prized and hard to get.
