Item description
Vintage original 23 x 33 in. German poster from THE cult horror musical comedy classic, THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, released in 1975 by 20th Century-Fox and directed by Jim Sharman. Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick are a newly-engaged couple whose car breaks down in an isolated area and they must pay a call to the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry).
The graphics feature the same image as that of the film's "Style A" US one-sheet poster, which depicts a pair of full female lips with bright red lipstick as she bites her lower lip in anticipation, along with the tagline, "A different set of jaws." This has become one of the most recognizable images from 1970's movie poster art. This example was never used and was issued for the film's original theatrical release in Germany. It is unrestored folded as originally issued in very fine condition with three small diagonal creases of varying sizes on the bottom left corner in the border only and just minimal signs of wear on the cross-folds. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws.
A true classic movie poster from a film that is still shown at midnight screenings throughout the world.
