The center hole is easily enlarged if necessary. This is the #12 size. 3/4" ID, 1 3/8" OD Fiber washers are much more heat conductive and longer lasting than plastic Fiber washers are necessary at the drive end of the auger. This reduces heat build up and keeps a tighter fit between the knife and plate. If you are experiencing "minced" meat when you grind then you may need to replace the fiber washer.
