To plant red salad bowl lettuce from seeds, follow these steps Timing: Direct sow seeds outdoors after the last frost in the spring or in early fall. Spacing: Space seeds 1/2 inch apart and 12 inches between rows. Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep. Soil Preparation: Loosen the top 12 inches of soil, removing roots and debris. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist. Harvesting: Start harvesting leaves when they reach about 4-6 inches tall. 1st class mail is used so there is no tracking.
