This is an antiquarian, 1910 hard-bound first edition of "The Steering Wheel" by Robert Alexander Wason, published by Bobbs-Merrill Company Publishers, Indianapolis, IN. Wason was known for writing early westerns, this vintage novel's title page describes itself as "all the world's a car, and all the men and women would be chauffeurs". Which considering, the automobile was a recent invention at the time, likely makes this an adventure book. The book was given as a gift to the original owner long ago and the mother writes a dedication, "From her loving Mother - Be natural and independent as the girls of this book are." This book was found in a 200 year old house in Virginia and was likely left there by the original recipient. The novel is in fair shape for a 110 year old edition. Binding is separating from pages and many of the first pages are loose (put present). The volume is clean albeit yellowed with age. There is 100 plus years of shelf wear on the edges and corners.
