This is a unique and possibly one of a kind Art Pottery Red Clay Stoneware Cookie Jar that has a signature on the bottom "Fiala" and on the side is dated 1982. Under the lid it reads "A HAPPY COOKIE IS IN THE TUMMY - fiala". The turquoise areas are glazed over and the rest of the jar looks like it has some kind of sealer in places - not really sure but has a great effect and appearance. On the exterior is reads "MOM'S COOKIE JAR" If you like Mid Century Stoneware this jar is for you! It measures approx. 8 1/4" across at base and approx. 5 1/8" across at opening and approx. 6 1/8" tall without lid or 8 1/4" tall with lid on to top of finial. It is in good pre-owned condition - structurally sound - no chips or cracks - there is a small area on lid where the turquoise color did not cover near bottom of lid.
