Carl Lewis, born on July 1, 1961, is an iconic track and field athlete who won nine Olympic gold medals and one silver medal across four Olympic Games. He also excelled at the World Championships, securing ten medals, eight of which were gold. Lewis frequently topped world rankings in the 100 m, 200 m, and long jump events from the early 1980s into the early 1990s. He set multiple world records, including indoor long jump records that have remained unbroken since 1984. Lewis's most remarkable achievement is his 65 consecutive victories in long jump competitions, spanning a decade. His dominance led to numerous accolades, including being named "World Athlete of the Century" by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and "Sportsman of the Century" by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). After retiring from competitive athletics in 1996, Lewis transitioned into acting and business ventures. He attempted a political career but was removed from the ballot due to residency requirements.
