It will allow you to use any lens with 58mm filter to mount on Canon EOS EF SLR cameras (such as T3, T5, T6i, T7i) for macro photography. Please note that if you want to use EF 18-55mm lenses with 58mm rim, you will not be able to adjust aperture since lens doe snot have aperture ring. But you could set aperture on Canon EOS camera in A mode, then remove it from Canon camera and mount it on Sony. It is generic brand, but it is good quality, made in China. It fits lens perfectly, and locks properly. It is not loose and does not wobble on EOS EF SLR cameras (it will not fit Cann EOS M or EOS R series cameras).
