Vintage dive mask from U. S. Divers Co.; their Aqua-Naut 5055 model, including original box and some papers. I found only a couple of examples of this specific model anywhere on the web. Soft black rubber with tempered glass and metal frame; this model has a purge valve on the bottom. Seems to date to the late 70s, as the warranty booklet is copyright 1975, revised 1976. Very nice condition. The rubber is still very supple, and I find no cracking, weakness, or stiffness. The purge valve has been cut per the included instruction sheet, so I presume this was used at least once, but perhaps no more than that. It does need a new valve, as the one in it is fragile, but that seems to be normal and they are available. The box of course shows some age but for being old corrugated cardboard, is in very good shape. I will cushion this inside its box and then pack it inside a larger one with plenty of cushioning, since the box is part of its charm. Ships via your choice of service.
