This hat appears to be handmade. The previous owner states it was in her family since the early 1900's. Possibly Victorian Era. The head opening is small. It measures approximately 5 inches round. The hat measures 15 inches across. The flowers are made from fabric. The black velvet is in good condition. The black ribbon on the top is showing very flat from improper storage, and it is fragile from age. Some tears in places. The wire around the brim still has some support in it but it shows some weakness in certain areas. It would make a nice addition to a collection.
