Archie's Girls Betty Veronica Annual #7 Comic Book From Archie's GIANT Series 7th Issue 1959 40 pages (80 double sided) It think I enjoy the old vintage advertisements more than the comics, and as I was going through scanning our comics collection, I had to stop and read those ads, and unfortunately every kid fell for at least one or two of those wild "claims", spending their hard earned allowances on yet another disappointing item. (But, were too ashamed to admit that it was not what they had imagined it would be). Much like the Back cover advertisement which reads; "Fully Electric Modern Split Level Doll House with a real growing front lawn for only $1.98 !! and It's over 2 feet long with 6 rooms! Magic Lawn Grows In 4 Days . To really give a lovely rural air to your youngster's country home; we've included special seed and miracle cellulose which in four short days will begin to develop a lawn. In no time at all with your youngster's loving care, she'll have a plush, green lawn that'll be a delight to see." Now I seem to recall this doll house, maybe we fell for the "courageousness" and sent for it, because I do remember the lawn! There was this weird soil that didn't look like dirt at all, it was a grayish color, that looked like shredded cardboard more than dirt. But I do remember little green sprouts that to the kids was a plush green lawn, and which was really rather ironic since they grew up in a very rural area, with a huge 2 acre lawn that the kids hated to mow, and growing up on a farm, the last thing they wanted to do was grow anything that required more work to maintain! CONDITION: Acceptable. Front and back cover shows signs of wear and scuffing. Cover has a signature "David". Spine and staples are tight, although the front page has come loose from the staples it is still firmly attached. There is a small tear at the bottom of one of the pages (see photo), but pages are clean, not smeared, dirty, or marked. Corners and edges are not torn or curled. If you love Vintage Advertisements, you will love the ones in this comic book.
