Art Deco Chinese Export Sterling Vermeil Pendant with Antique Carved Nephrite Mutton Fat Jade Plaque. This detailed filigree pendant has three enameled butterflies and three cabochon gemstones in addition to the carved nephrite jade plaque in the center. The jade piece is a nice rectangular style with a bird standing on plum flower branches. The carving is also filigree style that require master carving skills. The jade piece is a nice mutton fat color with just a slight tint of celadon. It measures 1 1/4 inches long and 1 inch tall. Below the jade piece is a 5 mm red coral cabochon and above are two turquoise cabs in same shape and size. Total length and width of the piece is 3 inches. Quite a statement piece! The pendant is made around 1930s for export to USA and the jade is believed to be from late 1800s. No hallmarks on silver, but it has been tested positive. This is genuine nephrite jade, not serpentine. Sometimes it is hard to tell, especially on pieces with good translucency. If you are a collector, you can tell.
