Item description

#2 in the series. Copyright 1949. Published by Cupples and Leon Co. Illustrated by Marguerite Gayer. Print year 1949. First Edition. 203 pages. This is part of a six-book series featuring Dan Carter, who is a Cub Scout, and the mysteries he and his scout pack solve. Intended readership were boys aged 8-11. The author also wrote many other series books for young children and teenagers, including many of the early Nancy Drew Mysteries under the generic Stratemeyer name "Carolyn Keene." A very good red cloth text in a very good dust jacket protected in removable Mylar. Very good spine and hinges. Sturdy paper without folds or tears. There is some spotting on the side page block, as shown in picture of the book.
