Meanwhile, back in their world, Reed shocks Sue and Johnny by selling FF patents to a company—Interlocking Technologies Unlimited—insisting it's necessary to keep their operations afloat. Reed Richards begins to suspect his powers are fading after selling the Fantastic Four to Interlocking Technologies and lies to Sue about his concerns, blaming Johnny’s recent departure. Meanwhile, Johnny Storm, heartbroken over Crystal's marriage, travels to the 5th Dimension where he learns that an evil alternate Reed Richards is waging war using robotic "Andrones," and Johnny agrees to help fight back. As alternate-world chaos unfolds with time-displaced attacks and betrayal, Reed mistakenly believes Johnny is leading an invasion, unaware that the true threat stems from weapons supplied by yet another mysterious tech conglomerate, Inter-Politan Thermo-Dynamics Unlimited.
