Item description

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS by Ernest Miller Hemingway THIS IS FASCIMILE (REPLICA), NOT AN ORIGINAL DUST JACKET, NO BOOK IS INCLUDED A high quality rendered facsimile dust jacket for the BLAKISTON reprint edition of this book. The size is totally different from the first edition, so DO NOT order this jacket for a first edition book which was originally published by Scribners Co. We have that listed separately! The jacket was rendered by fine and miniature art and engraving artist John Anthony Miller (feel free to due an internet search on the artsit) and archival ink and acid-free paper were used in the work. The jacket comes trimmed, and enclosed in a Mylar jacket protector, pre-folded for and ready to put on the book. (This facsimile dust jacket should last about 90 years or more if keep out of direct sunlight and colorfast-wise is better than the original inks which were done on the original dust jacket which was issued with the book long ago.) Please note: As on ALL our book jackets WHICH ARE PRINTED ONE AT A TIME, there will be an attached signed label on the verso of the jacket signed and stating that this is a facsimile dust jacket, also the monogram "JAM" of the artist, and "Facsimile Dust Jacket" and "John Anthony Miller Studio" printed tastefully near the bottom of the rear jacket flap. Please see the thumbnail photo of this dust jacket. Thank you very much for you kind response to my facsimile dust jackets. These are made one by one by hand with great care. They will NEVER be mass produced, and are made for reader and collector alike. I have received many positive comments about my work in making and printing these facsimile jackets. Here is one of them: "John's unique artistry was evident as soon as I saw The Great Gatsby dust jacket. Having seen scores of facsimile jackets, John's work is in a completely different league. The rich tonal quality of the colors is breathtaking and the weight of the paper is carefully considered. He satisfied the needs of the most demanding client, even during a personally trying time. I look forward to doing continued business with him in the future and give him my highest recommendation." Ryan Dohm, Profiles in History I am primarily an artist and take great care in the quality of my work. A number of you are buying my signed facsimile dust jackets and framing them. If you wish me to send a jacket to you unfolded, please let me know. Thank you, John Anthony Miller. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few highlight comments about the art work and quality of John Anthony Miller which will translate over into the reproduction dust jacket work: His art is in "collections" of The Smithsonian Institution, Chicago Art Science Industry, The Carnegie Art Museum, Chicago Art Institute, Clarke Humanities Museum at Scripps College, President Obama, The Ambassador to The People's Republic of China, etc. and other notable people.
