The book contains: a colored frontispiece, a period folding map of Virginia and over 100 engravings of the principal towns, seats of imminent men, public buildings, relics of antiquity, historic localities, natural scenery, etc., etc. 18 of the engravings are full page with the rest being interspersed throughout the text. Howes compliments this book as being well done adding that the: Account of the Battle of Point Pleasant, The Captivity of the Moore Family, and the Biographical Sketches of the Campbells, are new and interesting.
