The dual mechanical and dynamic braking system is designed to stop and hold the fully loaded cable, keeping it where you need it until you are ready to move again. The KT4000 also has a built-in circuit breaker, protecting the winch and your equipment if a voltage change or short circuit should occur. How to choose a winch Choose a winch model with a capacity that is at least 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle you plan to pull. This assumes a rolling wheeled vehicle, in good condition, on a hard, flat, level surface. If you plan to drag a non-rolling load, choose a winch with at least twice the weight capacity.
