Item description

This first edition was well read or handled a lot. It shows a lot of wear at the binding where it was slipped out of a shelf of books over and over. The binding is parting a little as shown in the picture. Someone wrote notes in ink on the inside cover which can be seen in photo number 4. This is the second book in a series of 16 and it is a first edition. It is illustrated. A youngster with good reading skills and a good vocabulary would enjoy this series as would an adult. The author, Gilbert Patten, managed a semi pro baseball team for a couple of years so he had first hand knowledge of baseball. The author spend his life in Maine until he moved to New York and then to California where he resided until his death in 1945. He was a very prolific author. It has been in a smoke free home. This will be shipped via USPS Media Mail unless more than one book is order. Then we may combine in one shipment and use priority mail. We must collect 6% Pennsylvania Sales Tax at checkout.
