Item description

Pre-viewed for quality and it played great on my Panasonic vcr. Full screen is perfect for old school TVs as the image will fill your square frame. Box looks good except for a little nickle-sized stain on the back, bottom left corner which has penetrated to the inside. Cassette has a hairline crack in the right window. Filmed in Black White, World War II rages across the pacific and Lt. Cmdr. Duke E. Gifford is in the thick of it. He evacuates children from enemy-held islands. Oversees the research and development of torpedoes at Pearl Harbor. And prowls the depths in the submarine Thunderfish, hoping for a chance to aim his improved "tin fish" -- torpedoes -- at the hulls of the enemy fleet. John Wayne brings his man-of-action persona to the role of Duke. "I'm no theory man. I'm a line officer", Gifford barks. He backs it up with a lot of bite in a series of feverish sea battles. Yet he's also a man of heart with a loving wife in the home port (fellow Academy Award winner Patricia Neal).
