Produced by Jack Gold and released on Columbia Records, the album exemplifies Conniff's signature style of blending orchestral elements with a mixed chorus of 12 women and 13 men, creating a warm, nostalgic sound that appealed to a broad audience during the era's rock-dominated music scene. Historically significant as part of Conniff's prolific output in the easy-listening genre, it reflects the commercial success of his formula, which had already yielded platinum albums like Somewhere My Love in 1966 and contributed to his international fame, including posthumous recognition for sales in multiple countries. The album itself did not achieve major chart success or awards but fits into Conniff's broader legacy of over 100 recordings and Grammy wins for choral performances. No hit singles emerged from Turn Around Look at Me, though its title track?a cover of Glen Campbell's 1968 country-pop single?stands out as a faithful rendition of a top-40 Billboard hit.
