This is for a Robert Wood licensed "artagraph" enhanced print on canvas of his famous work titled "Pacific Coast" in excellent condition. This is a large piece at 36" x 24" canvas dimensions. Very few of these exist now. Anything else you find will be faded/yellowed paper prints. This was under corporate ownership at one time by the prolific Texas restaurant chain Wyatt Cafeterias, Inc. This was recently acquired here in San Antonio where Wood lived from 1923 to 1940 creating his plein air paintings of bluebonnets and becoming a renowned Texas artist. In just a few short years by the time Wood painted "Pacific Coast" in California in 1945 he had established himself as one of the greatest landscape painters in the United States. The back of the canvas shows the corporate ownership information including what looks like their inventory reference numbers, the restaurant chain number, the painting's title, the artist, and the lighting instructions. Four screw holes for the lighting fixture can be seen at the top center. The paper on the back also shows a superficial water stain with absolutely no affect on the frame or the canvas farther below it as show in the photo. A sample spot cleaning was done with a Q-tip as shown. This hung in a public setting for years so a basic cleaning will definitely brighten it up. Based on the company history and the store number this hung for decades at 8511 Tesoro Drive in San Antonio, TX. This is also listed for sale locally and I received a message from someone who remembers it. They said they ate that location often and that this painting hung very high up on the wall.
