In Wyoming, mountain trapper Yancey goes to the nearest town to trade his pelts but gets into trouble when he tries to save runaway dance-hall girl Rosalie from her shameful job.
Charming tale of mountaineer-trapper Yancey's (Audie Murphy) first taste "big city" life with young, sweet Rosalie (Sandra Dee) in tow. She flees her family, which tried to trade her for some of Yancey's beaver pelts, and tags along with the reluctant Yancey. They get into all manner of trouble in town, and Yancey has to shoot Sheriff Bartell (Gilbert Roland) to rescue Rosalie from her job as a dance-hall girl.
