You will need to make a self watering soil mix for this. Which is usually a lot of large per-lite and peat moss at a minimum. I like this pots but this one is a little large for what I normally grow. Either needs a couple violets, a giant violet or one of the many other plants that does well self watered. This is a vintage 2001 "The Violet Pot" self-watering planter, designed specifically for African violets and other moisture-sensitive plants.
