Vintage Erwin Pearl Frog Toad Green Enamel Gold Tone Brooch Pin Signed Red Crystal Eyes Goldtone Metal 3 Dimensional 3D Amphibian Herpetologist Figural Realistic Style Bullfrog Hand Painted Handpainted Made in United States U.S.A. This is an adorable big chunky textured frog brooch made by Erwin Pearl. It is very 3 dimensional and appears to be ready to leap away. It is signed on the back “ E. Pearl”. Erwin Pearl is an American designer who has been making jewelry since 1952. He has numerous international awards including the Diamond International Award, the Dallas Fashion Award and the Mikimoto Pearl Award. He started designing costume jewelry in 1970. The frog is a goldtone metal with green enamel with gold that shows through as an accent. It has a hobnail bumpy back, textured gold ridged face and red cabochon stone eyes. It measures approximately 2 inches long and 2 inches wide. It domes up about of an inch. This is most likely from the 1980s to early 1990s. This brooch is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The roll over clasp closure works fine and is secure. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe. This would be perfect for anyone who loves frogs or toads. It will be a nice surprise for your favorite Herpetologist or for your own collection of figural jewelry.
