Item description
"HISTORY IS OUR STORY" FOREST K. FISHER BOBBLEHEAD - Yes, that’s right! Get your very own mini Forest. Who is Forest, you ask? It’s a pleasure for us to elaborate, as we nod in the affirmative! Forest was an elementary teacher in the Mifflin County School District for 34 years, where students remember him as an inspiration and on matters of local history. He was a contributor to: MCSD’s student book, Mifflin County Yesterday Today; the PRR Technical Historical Society’s Moccasins to Steel Wheels – Lewistown the Pennsylvania Railroad and a regular for 15 years in “Common Ground Magazine” writing on Juniata Valley history. Forest also did a live local radio presentation weekly, “History is Our Story,” for several years, bringing stories from our past to an eager listening audience. Society author of 10 books on Mifflin County’s heritage and history; 25 years editor of “Notes from Monument Square,” the Society newsletter and for the past twenty years, creative design and layout for the Society’s annual “Picture the Past Calendar,” given by the Society to all Mifflin County fourth grade students at no cost to the schools. That doesn’t even touch Forest’s video road show programs to church and civic groups in past years. Safe to say, we know of a few Forest Bobbleheads going to his former students, too. Your purchase supports the Society’s mission as it enteres its second 100 years. . Nod yes, and make your purchase today! Now less than 100 available.
