Pierre Lucien DuMont Hand Hammered Pewter Arts Crafts 12? Plate France 1930s.
Fantastic example of French Arts Crafts in the 1930s. Found at a recent estate sale. Shows signs of originally having been hand hammered and yet creatively and carefully bent and shaped into what we believe is a floral- sequence design around the outside. The DuMont name is double stamped on the inside of the plate and we had to go find examples of his other work to match the stamping. On back it?s stamped MADE IN FRANCE which helped us in our initial search. The plate feels a bit bent or warped or out of kilter. Not uncommon for something that been banging around the world for 90+ years. Easily malleable to manipulate it back but not really that noticeable - we just wanted to point out any potential issues.
The plate is 12? across so a very nice size if you are a pewter collector and wish to display this piece.
