Item description
"Whitewater Valley - Gobblers" by David Maass - 1983 Minnesota Wild Turkey Stamp Print, artist signed, with matching Minnesota Chapter National Wild Turkey Federation Stamp. "First of Minnesota". Part of a 1500 S/N print release from the Minnesota National Wild Turkey Federation in 1983. It's hard to find vintage stamp prints like this one that are still in near mint condition, in their original folders, and have never been framed. Image size of the print is 6 1/2" X 9" and overall size, including the white border, is 12' X 14" About the Artist: Artist David Maass is an American wildlife artist from Rochester, Minnesota. Maass always had an interest in animals, often bringing home orphaned birds when he was younger. Hunting trips with his father became some of the inspiration behind David Maass' paintings. David Maass started his career without the help of any formal art education, but he had incredible talent. He was aided by mentors and friends along with an exceptionally strong will that helped him become one of the top artists of wildlife art. Mr. Maass was first selected by Ducks Unlimited as Artist of the Year for 1974. He felt that this was the greatest honor that he ever received because the award comes from the vote of more than 700 Ducks Unlimited officers, conservationists, and hunters who know the birds and their habitats well. Unlike many competitions, it is not a contest in which one particular work is chosen as the best. It is an all-encompassing award for outstanding ability in the field of wildlife art, prints and posters. Ducks Unlimited has named David Maass Artist of the Year five times.
This limited edition print is in near mint condition. It has been stored in our gallery and never framed. It is numbered and signed by the artist. Buy with confidence - every order is shipped with delivery confirmation tracking number. Fast shipping from our non-smoking home.
