Buttercrunch Lettuce is a classic butterhead that is famous for its delicious flavor and buttery texture. Buttercrunch Lettuce has dark green leaves and small compact hearts that blanch to an appetizing yellow color. Buttercrunch Lettuce is slow to bolt, heat tolerant, and stays mild long after other lettuces have turned bitter. Buttercrunch Lettuce was the 1963 All America Selection Winner. Soft, buttery-textured leaves enclose a crisp, juicy, loose inner head of blanched, sweet tasting leaves. The small hearts do not become bitter in hot weather.
