COLLINS Col. Foley D. Jr. (USAF-Ret) died Aug. 26 in Houston TX. Born in Sulphur OK. Oct. 10, 1918, he was graduated from Classen High School in OKC in 1936, attended the University of Oklahoma and was graduated from Oklahoma City University. As a C-47 pilot, he towed the first group of gliders across the English Channel on the D-Day invasion of Normandy in WWII, and later served in Korea. While on active duty, he directed executive training programs for foreign air cadets and wrote manuals for those programs. He later served as a counselor for the Texas State Employment Commission. He was one of the original members of the Confederate Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Pathea Jo; three daughters, Cynthia, Melissa and Stephanie; father and stepmother of OKC, (mother pre-deceased); two sisters, Mrs. Lou Wein of Enid and Mrs. Jeanne Cooke of Stillwater; and a brother, Lynn of OKC. The funeral service was in Houston with full military honors.
