DETAILS This is a male plug for using an original factory radio in select 1998+ Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. (If you need the opposite version check our store for the FDW-AP16. Item 275550541273.) Wiring pigtails of at least 2 inches are attached. This would be used if your original plug was cut off by a previous owner (for instance) and you're trying to reinstall the correct factory radio, so you need the correct Ford plug. This was the main 16-pin plug offered by Ford in the vehicles listed, so if you've counted 16 pins on your radio plug, chances are, this is the one you need. (Although not all 16-pins will be populated on our plug because they are not all used.) This style of plug was used on most Ford, Lincoln and Mercury radios from 1998-2003 (and newer, in some vehicles). See APPLICATIONS below for examples of vehicles that used this plug, as well as a list of Ford radio engineering (part) numbers known to use this plug style. Ford did not always use the same wire colors. And this plug will have different wire colors from your harness (and from the picture) anyway, since it is a reproduction. As a result, some research regarding pin assignment and wire colors in the vehicle will be required. (Blame the person who cut your factory plug off...) This plug does use the aftermarket standard colors. Information on those is readily available on the internet, but there is a standard color chart pictured in this listing too. Please note: this does not include plugs for the auxiliary input or the factory subwoofer. So options in your vehicle like Sirius satellite radio, aux input plug, Audiophile, Pioneer, Shaker, etc will not be supported with this plug alone.
