PLANS / PATTERN ONLY !
Purchase is for the woodworking plans only to make this nesting box ------- NOT ------- a finished box .
With what a finished owl box sells for + the shipping cost of the heavy wood box you can make 2 of these be way ahead.
My designs are easy to work with. Comes with simple instructions pictures .
I do not recommend using cedar as a lot of sellers do when making the boxes they sell or stains or paint as the birds do not like aromatic
smells from lumber more so the young.
In the one picture you can see there is an interior divider separating the box into two compartment areas.
The divider is open at the back for the birds to go to the other side for nesting but a predator can not reach around it .
Should a predator be able to reach into the box, they will be unable to reach the owl or owlets on the other side of the divider.
The entrance hole is also placed in consideration of young babies in order to keep them from being pushed out of the box by others behind them while they all seek to be fed first.
Best is to attach box to tree or pole at Min. of 12 foot . Higher the better .
I made this one for my picture from pine board but they could even be made from free pallets wood.
