"Saint Agatha -- Patron Saint of Breast Cancer" Charm / Pendant by Sue Kouma Johnson Saint Agatha was a Roman 3rd Century virgin martyr who suffered much for her faith. She was sent to a house of prostitution as a mockery of her virginity, but was miraculously preserved. Later, she was cruelly tortured before being put to death. Her last prayer was, " O Lord Jesus Christ, good Master, I give You thanks that You granted me victory over the executioners' tortures. Grant now that I may happily dwell in Your never-ending glory." After her death, it is said that the eruption of Mt Etna was stopped by prayers to St Agatha. She is patron saint of those with breast cancer, firefighters, nurses, jewelers, and others. I painted the original image with colored pencils and acrylics. She holds a palm branch, symbol of martyrdom, and a volcano is in the background. The image is the same on both sides. This charm may be worn as a necklace. There are chains available elsewhere in my shop. (Add to your order if you want a chain shipped with the charm.) All of my charms are made with lead-free solder and glass. Same image on both sides. Size is 5/8" by 1 1/8." If you put them on a key chain, they may get broken if not treated kindly. They are glass.
