The only model kit of the Airborne Laser Lab (NKC-135A) ever made

This kit has some issues because the manufacturer used very thin styrene to produce this large sized model kit. Probably the worst issue is the "dreaded wing-drop" which shows up over time. Consequently, this is a model for experienced modelers (not beginners) and requires structural reinforcing the wings to prevent "wing-drop" from happening. These is an old article on the internet about dealing with the AMT/ERTL c-135 "dreaded Wing-drop" if you are lucky enough to find a copy with photos.

AMT/ERTL produced many variants of the Boeing C-135 in 1/72 scale: C-135, EC-18 Aria, RC-135V, E-8, etc.). Almost all of these are long out-of-production and fetch high prices on Ebay and from other sellers.

The ALL is a fascinating airplane (now on display at the USAF Museum in Wright-Patterson, OH). The new airborne laser lab is the YAL-1, which Anigrand Models makes in 1/144 scale. Check out R.W. Duffer's book Airborne Laser Bullets of Light on Amazon. Cool stuff Man!
