Three (3) Original Colorful Vintage Movie Theater Art Deco Mats These are thin paperboard mats used to hold and display 8" x 10" Movie Stills. Each measures 11" x 14" with slots to insert the movie stills. Unsure of their age, but probably Pre-1970s? Studios distributed pre-packaged sets of movie stills to theaters across the country. These collections were displayed in theater lobbies as part of promotional displays to catch the eye of moviegoers. Some stills showed pivotal scenes from the film, while others featured glamorous posed portraits of leading actors. Many theaters showcased these photos in glass cases alongside posters and lobby cards. They served as a visual teaser, offering a sneak peek at the story, the stars, and the overall aesthetic of the production. The mats are in overall VERY GOOD condition with some overall wear especially on the corners. One is especially tanned on the back. The movie still pictured is not included.
