Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1960's British horror/crime mystery, MANIAC, released in 1963 in the US by Columbia Pictures and directed by Michael Carreras. Produced by Hammer Films, an American painter has an affair with a bar owner in a French village, and agrees to help murder her husband, who has escaped from a prison for the criminally insane. The cast includes Kerwin Matthews, Nadia Gray, Donald Houston, Liliane Brousse, George Pastell, and Arnold Diamond. This original lobby card was produced for the US theatrical release by Columbia Pictures and depicts Annette Beynat (Liliane Brousse) nervously seated in the passenger seat of a car as the male driver looks at her while pushing the door open. It is unrestored in fine condition with a Canadian censor stamp on the bottom of Brousse's dress and small creases in the top border. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws. The film was on Hammer's 1960 schedule but for unclear reasons it was shelved. It would have starred Peter Cushing and George Sanders.
