Ask any and all questions BEFORE buying ! For sale is a vintage AK Type N radio loudspeaker in excellent physical shape ! Purchased at an estate sale on 06/21/25. Cone and surround have NO holes, tears, stains etc. Painted frame looks great too... some paint missing on the brackets. The cable's fabric insulated cable and the plug look great too. When gently pressing on the cone, it moves smoothly in and out with no scraping. I'm assuming this is a "Field Coil" speaker? The large piece on the side of the bell cover looks like a wax capacitor...see the pic with it unscrewed from the bell. There's a small strain relief cover plate where the cable comes out from the speaker.. the cover plate is missing 1 of its 3 tiny screws but the 2 remaining screws hols the light cover plate intact just finem(see pic). Unsure what radio brand model this came from, but from my online research... it's very likely it was used in early 30's AK radios like the model 76 console radio. No way to fully test speaker without a compatible chassis, but.. I did attach some speaker wire from an 8 ohm Pioneer receiver to the inner most leads of speaker, and it produced clean, undistorted music. Did same when attaching the + - sides of the speaker wire to a couple of pairs of the connection plug's prongs, and again... was able to listen to clean output/music. Judging by the great physical condition and clean output, I think the speaker works fine, but... BUYER must buy it AS-IS, knowing there's always some slight risk of an unknown issue. I'd call this a 10" speaker since frame diameter is 11", and distance between opposite screw-holes is 10.25", measured center-center. Speaker weighs about 15 lbs.
