Item description
The TDA3810 is an integrated circuit audio processor designed to provide spatial, stereo, and pseudo-stereo sound effects in radio and television equipment.
Key Features
Audio Modes: The IC supports three selectable modes: mono/pseudo-stereo, stereo, and spatial stereo (also known as "surround sound" or "widened stereo image").
Inputs/Outputs: It accepts stereo audio signals as input and provides outputs for the left and right channels. It also includes dedicated LED driver outputs to indicate the currently selected mode.
Supply Voltage: It operates from a wide supply voltage range, typically 4.5 V to 16.5 V, with a low current consumption of around 7 mA (typical).
External Components: The quality and strength of the pseudo-stereo and spatial effects are determined by external components (resistors and capacitors) used in conjunction with the internal operational amplifiers.
Low Distortion: It features low total harmonic distortion (typically 0.1% in stereo mode) and high channel separation (typically 70 dB).
Reduced Switching Noise: The use of offset-compensated operational amplifiers and a start/stop circuit helps to minimize noise during mode switching and prevent LED flicker.
Operating Modes
The different modes are selected using control pins (pins 11 and 12):
