It hardens after the exhaust system is heated and ensures a rust free, quality repair. Exhaust Repairs - Remove dirt and rust from damage. Apply CarPlan Exhaust Repair Paste over the damaged area, pushing the paste into the hole to ensure a good repair. On larger splits, use CarPlan Exhaust Repair Bandage. When necessary, soften paste by adding a small amount of water. Exhaust Assembly - Remove any loose rust, dirt or grease from connecting pipes and clean all gasket faces. Smear CarPlan Exhaust Repair Paste over the pipe inserts and joint faces before assembly. Push the paste into the slots and gaps to form a good seal and spread over the joints and clamps. Tighten up all clamps and manifold assemblies. The paste will harden as the exhaust warms up.
