Long Island Improved is an heirloom variety of brussel sprouts. It produces high yields of semi-dwarf, compact plants with flavorful sprouts. Each plant produces between 75-100 sprouts that are 1-2 inches round and resemble miniature cabbages when mature To grow Long Island Improved Brussels sprouts, follow these tips: RareSeeds+3 Sow seeds or set transplants in rich soil in full sun with abundant moisture. Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant seeds 1/2" deep in soil and thin them 2' apart when they grow to 6" tall. Mulch to preserve soil moisture. Harvest sprouts when they are 1 to 1oe inches in diameter. 1st class mail is used so there is no tracking.
