Item description

This is a Copy of 3 WWII Japanese Books: Heizyo, Tyosen, Keizyo. Please see my photos for a better idea of the state of the items. Please let me know if you have any questions or want more pictures! The Heizyo book is a guide to Heizyo, the Japanese name for P?yongyang (now the capital of north Korea). Tyosen is a guide to Korea in general, as it is the term used for Korean during the Japanese Occupation. Keizyo is the name for Seoul during this period, and is a guide to that city. They were printed in 1939 during the period of Japanese occupation of Korea. Korea was under Japanese rule from 1910 until the Japanese defeat in World War II in 1945. In Korea, the period is usually described as a time of "Japanese forced occupation." The Japanese altered the names of towns and cities, public monuments, well-known temples, palaces, memorials etc. This is a very rare item showing P?yongyang (Heizyo), Korea (Tyosen), and Seoul (Keizyo) as they were before World War 2 and the Korean War (1950 - 1953).
