A unique model for the Egyptian goddess, made in Egypt
Bastet is the goddess of fun, happiness and comfort in ancient Egypt. The center of her worship was the city of Bubasta near Zagazig in the Delta, and it is now the city of Tal Basta. [1] The goddess Popastet is depicted in the form of a lady with a cat's head holding in one hand the sist of the goddess Hathor and in the other hand carrying a basket. She was also sometimes depicted as a cat.
The beginning of the appearance of "Bastet" in Egyptian sources goes back to the era of the beginning of the dynasties, when some shavings and vessels with the name of the goddess "Bastet" were found in the regions of "Saqqara" and "Abydos." [2]
She appears as the moderate mother and nanny of the king in the texts of the pyramids (Pyr. 1111). It was also associated with providing the deceased with protection in "coffin texts" from the Middle Kingdom. However, her fierce nature still existed like most goddesses in the form of a lioness.
She was seen as the daughter of Ra and an "eye of Ra". It was also associated with the moon, as the "moon's eye." And her relationship with the deity "Ra" continued, even when she was depicted in the form of a cat. Therefore, it was known as (the cat "Ra", which destroys the snake, the enemy of the sun god).
