Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na... BATMAN! About the item: Released by Hot Toys and distributed through Sideshow, this stunning Sixth Scale action figure features Adam West as Batman. It comes still sealed in its original nm/mint condition package and is actually signed by hand by Adam West (with gold Sharpie, which appears to be bronzing as it ages). Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-signed signature of West. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image on the box. It was autographed at the 2014 Phoenix Comic Con in Phoenix, Arizona and includes a VaultCollectibles Certificate of Authenticity (for further info on authentication, see below). From the Manufactures Description: With its catchy opening song, campy costumes and lighthearted comical moments, the Batman 1960s Television Series is a beloved classic among Batman fans. Adam West has become synonymous with the crime fighting hero and to this day remains as one of fans' favorite actors to don the cape and cowl. Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys are excited to introduce the Batman Sixth Scale Collectible Figure from the 1960s live action television series. The collectible figure is newly developed and highly detailed, specially crafted based on the image of Adam West as the iconic character Batman, featuring a screen-accurate masked head sculpt, specially made costume with Batman logo, weapons and accessories. Starring Adam West and Burt Ward, the show was a true pop culture phenomenons and influenced an entire generation of fans and possibly even helped save the Batman comics themselves from cancellation. Debuting in 1966, it changed Batman from a reasonably successful DC comic character into a true global icon. The series also created a merchandising bonanza exceeded only by Star Wars a decade later, turned the Batmobile into the most recognized fictional car of all time (surpassing all others contenders, before or since, including such icons as KITT, the General Lee, and James Bond?s Aston Martin DB5), and forever added it?s own catch phrases into the pop-culture lexicon- such as Robin?s famous ?Holy?? whatever quips and ?Same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel.? In significant ways the TV series also made lasting contributions to the comic book continuity; the creation of Batgirl ? a character specifically introduced into the comics for inclusion in the Television series ? and, perhaps most importantly, returning to prominence the four classic villains of the Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler, and the Penguin (all of which were shelved for years due to the impact of Fredric Wertham?s anti-comics expose Seduction of the Innocent). In the more than fifty years since the shows cancellation, Batman has continued to air in reruns all around the world to this day. A word about Authenticity/Provenance: Excepting pack-pulled autograph trading cards, CGC Signature Series, signed Sideshow prints, and like collectibles, all autographed items Vault Collectibles sells were personally witnessed, by myself, being signed by the writer, artist, or celebrity in question. No third party is involved. Further, art sketches - and most published original art I sell - were obtained directly from the artist themselves.
