Here is an ANTIQUE, EXCELLENT Condition, Marked "Gold With Blue White Enamel American Legion Auxiliary Lapel Scatter Pin" Pat DE 55398 made in the early-1920s. My friend recently rediscovered a box of pins that had belonged to her Grandfather; they were safely and securely stored in a box in her mothers basement since 1974. This Gold with Blue White Enamel Pin has a NICE Warm Patina and is in EXCELLENT Condition with NO damage; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. It measures approximately 1/2 inch around, with the Swivel Pinback measuring approximately 3/8ths of an inch long; the back is Marked "Pat DE 55398" and has a Markers Mark With a "B" inside a shield. This Pin has a lined Gold starburst base with a Blue Enamel Ring containing the words "American Legion Auxiliary" around a White Enamel Center with a Blue Enamel Star in the middle. The BEAUTIFUL Blue White Enameling is translucent and VIBRANT on this Art Deco Era Lapel Pin. The Makers Mark Hallmark is difficult to make out. The letter "B" in within the outline of a figure that might be a Rectangle topped by a Shield, Chest Piece, House or Bell - I haven't been able to identify the owner of this mark.
