This is a VINTAGE, ANTIQUE, EXCELLENT Condition, Marked "Sterling Silver Filigree Iron Pyrite Marcasite Blue And Red Enamel Baptist Navigator’s Wheel Cross Eight 8 Sided Medal Pendant" from the late-1920s. My friend's grandmother received this Sterling Marcasite Pendant in 1928 and wore it on special occasions through the late-1990s when it was packed away upon her passing. Recently rediscovered as my neighbor has been going through her late-Mother’s home, it has been safely and securely stored. With a NICE WARM Age Appropriate Patina, there are NO marks, cracks, chips, breaks, missing stones or other DAMAGE; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Having a width of approximately 3/4ths of an inch and measuring approximately 1 inch tall, the built-in bail needs a jumping; it is Marked “E inside a C". With eight 8 sides, the center of this BEAUTIFUL Filigree Marcasite studded pendant contains a Navigator’s Wheel which holds a Blue Enamel circle with the word “Baptist” around a Red Enamel Cross with rays of light emanating outwards. Much nicer in person, the simplicity of this Medal Pendant is quite LOVELY. With an understated, modernist beauty, it is an ATTRACTIVE and well-made Pendant that is quite DIMENSIONAL with a flattering shape and size. A UNIQUE and ELEGANT Religious Baptist Pendant, it is also SIMPLE and PRETTY. It is IDEAL for daily wear of special occasions! The Navigator's Wheel in the center implies direction, representing the four spokes of a Christian's life: Scripture, prayer, witnessing, and fellowship. These are emphasized in the activities of the Baptist church.
