Item description

From the bottom of the base to the top of the copper part is about eleven inches. To the top of the finial thread on the shade holder around 20"; has no finial or shade. The shade holder does not want to come apart and I don't think it is supposed to. Depending on my mood it looks either deco or to me more neo-classical and I estimate the original piece dates to the pre-war period possibly twenties. There is presently installed a three-way socket which probably dates to the sixties looking at the plug on the cord. Highly stylish and attractive with alternating sections. By appearance there is a brass base, a copper piece, a bronze looking piece and then the large piece in copper. I suspect though the bronze looking piece is also copper just plated or treated. Brass handles, no they are not made to swivel. Handles have either an Oriental or ancient Greek look to them I think. There is but one small dent that doesn't go much past flat and it is on what would be the back side as you would place the lamp on a table. Works great; bulb not included. The very bottom is steel and rusting a little so you will want to attach a new felt piece. I have looked over some other antique copper lamps available and I don't see anything much better if at all, and with some polish this could be special.
