This is a stunning antique Royal Worcester covered serving dish, featuring a chinoiserie-inspired pattern with delicate hand-painted floral motifs, a charming pagoda, and intricate gold accents. The dish measures 13.5? (34 cm) handle to handle and showcases the craftsmanship that Royal Worcester is known for.
Condition:
Displays fine, even crazing throughout, consistent with age.
A hairline crack under the lid (see photos).
Some wear to the gilding on the handles.
Despite these imperfections, this piece remains an elegant display item or a beautiful addition to any antique porcelain collection.
Marked on the underside with the Royal Worcester stamp and pattern number 5969. Exact production date is unknown, but similar pieces suggest it dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s.
The Royal Worcester 5969 pattern is a chinoiserie-inspired design featuring stylized flowering branches, delicate blossoms, and a pagoda motif, all accented with fine gilding. The color palette includes soft pinks, reds, blues, and greens, creating an elegant and timeless aesthetic. This pattern reflects the Victorian fascination with Eastern art and design, making it a desirable collector?s piece.
