Item description

Beautiful framed Japanese woodblock print featuring a dramatic samurai battle scene set against swirling ocean waves. This artwork showcases vibrant flowing lines and strong movement, typical of Edo-period storytelling prints. The piece features a signature cartouche, as well as an additional publisher?s or studio seal, indicating it follows the traditional ukiyo-e printmaking style. Based on visual comparison, the scene resembles works attributed to the Utagawa school (notably Utagawa Kuniyoshi), particularly his depictions from the ?Tale of the Heike? saga. ? Approximate framed size: 16? x 13? ? Art appears carefully mounted under glass. ? Frame shows minor signs of wear appropriate to age. ? Backing is intact and has not been removed for further inspection. ? Print condition: Good, rich colors, some minor toning from age visible. Because the back has not been opened, it is unknown if this is an original, an early reprint, or a later restrike. Sold as-found. A rare and striking piece perfect for collectors of Japanese art, samurai history, or woodblock prints. Shipping carefully with full protection. Please review photos for full details and reach out with any questions before bidding. Sold as-is.
