Item description

This antique cabinet card photo, which I'm pretty sure is from the 1890s, is marked "Kays" from Kenton, O (which I think is Kenton, Ohio). It features a little girl about 8 or 9 years old (my guess) wearing what looks like a party dress and holding a wand or baton of some sort. On the back is the name Ethel Lambert. The card measures 6.5" X 4.25", and other than a small bump to the lower right corner it's in excellent shape. My photo doesn't do it justice (apparently it's harder than I thought to get a good picture of these), and it's much clearer in real life. I don't know much more about it, or about these photos in general (I am not a collector). This one has been in my possession for about 20 years, and after a great deal of general fishing around, I've determined that this is not a member of my family; it is likely just something that my grandfather picked up somewhere, as he tended to do. Rather than keep it here gathering dust, I'm passing it along so that someone who has a use or appreciation for these things can give it a new home. It is quite a nice picture, I think; the girl has what I have always thought to be a fierce, determined look on her face. I've grown to like her over the years of staring at her, and I'll always have a strong suspicion that she grew up to be a woman who put up with no nonsense (that's what I like to believe, anyway). Asking $5.00 obo. Everything I have listed for sale is "or best offer", so feel free to make an offer. ~~~~~ ALL ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR LOCAL PICKUP. I sell a huge variety of stuff to supplement my income and help me put the last of my kids through college. Some items come from flea markets or estate sales, and some come from around our home, but many items come to me from my extended family of hardcore hoarders. So, the variety really can be vast and unpredictable. Please check back often, because you really never know what I will have from one day to the next! Thanks for visiting and have a great day!
