This black glass plate is hand painted in white paint and signed "E. H. Brown 1970." This is the "Mary Gregory" style of painting (although no such person existed). The scene is of a boy and his dog, fishing. The plate is marked on the back with Westmoreland's W over G mark. The lacy border has three rows of pretty forget-me-not flowers. This line of glassware was made from the early 1950s until 1982, but this plate was made in 1970 because it is signed and dated. This plate is 8 1/2 inches in diameter and has no damage. It weighs 1 pound and 5.5 ounces before being packed for shipping. The black glass is glossy and completely black. (The cloudy appearance in my last photo is reflections, not actually cloudy.
